Training
Talking Politics with People Unlike Ourselves
In this politically-charged time, moderate and progressive groups are out in force, trying to motivate others to become politically active, to share their commitment to particular candidates or issues, and to vote. This means communicating with people who differ from themselves in style, beliefs, party affiliation, and level of interest in politics.
Originally designed for training of outreach political activists, this three-hour Commonweal Institute workshop provides new tools for reaching the uncommitted, the wavering, and people unlike themselves. It is beneficial for politically-interested individuals, regardless of whether they will be talking to the public, family members, neighbors, &/or work colleagues.
Training of Trainers
In order to multiply the effectiveness of progressive outreach, the Commonweal Institute also offers Talking Politics Training-of-Trainers services and materials to large organizations and coalitions that have their own trainers, so that they can conduct the workshops themselves.
Marketing Basics for Activists
